Ed is a Founding Partner of Quintus Partners and is based in our Palo Alto office.  He has over 25 years of investment banking experience in the US and Asia.  During his career, Ed has originated and led numerous strategic advisory, privatization, financing and restructuring transactions for clients across multiple geographies and industries.  Most recently, he was Executive Chairman of Global Mergers & Acquisitions at Barclays, based in Menlo Park, California.  Prior to transferring back to the U.S. in 2014, Ed was a Managing Director and Head of Asia Pacific M&A in Hong Kong and a member of the Global M&A Executive Committee at Barclays.  In this role, he was responsible for building and leading Barclays' M&A business in the Asia Pacific region.

Before joining Barclays in 2010, Ed was with Morgan Stanley in Asia for 11 years where he was a Managing Director and served concurrently as the Head of Asia Pacific M&A and Head of the Asia Pacific Financial Sponsors Group.  Before these positions, he was Head of Morgan Stanley’s China M&A business.  At Morgan Stanley, Ed was also a member of the Global Investment Banking Management Committee and the Asia Pacific Franchise Committee.  Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 1999, Ed was a Vice President in the M&A Group at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in New York and transferred to Hong Kong in 1998 to help found the Asia M&A Group. 

Ed received a BA in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Johan is a Founding Partner of Quintus Partners and is based in our Hong Kong office.  Prior to Quintus Partners, he was a Managing Director and Head of Corporate Finance, Asia Pacific at Barclays from 2010 to 2014, leading the build-out of Barclays' client coverage organization and heading coverage of key clients in the region.  Before joining Barclays, Johan had a 19-year career at Goldman Sachs, including serving as Head of Mergers & Acquisitions for Asia ex-Japan from 2001 to 2009.  Johan also held various other leadership roles at Goldman Sachs, including as Head of Corporate Finance in Asia ex-Japan and as a member of the firm's Global Commitments Committee.  His career at Goldman Sachs spanned a decade in the Asia Pacific region, in both Hong Kong and Sydney, after nearly a decade as an M&A professional in London and Frankfurt.  He became a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs in 2000 and a Partner in 2004.

Since arriving in the Asia Pacific region in 1999, Johan has advised numerous Asia-based clients on mergers and acquisitions and capital raising activities, both within the region and cross-border into North America, Europe or Australia. He also has long-standing experience in assisting overseas clients in growing their businesses in Asia Pacific. 

Johan grew up in Sweden and holds an MBA and a Degree in Economics and Business Administration from the Stockholm School of Economics.

Helge is a Founding Partner of Quintus Partners and is based in our New York office.  Prior to Quintus Partners, Helge spent 14 years in Hong Kong where he was most recently Managing Director and co-Global Head of the Financial Institutions Group at Barclays. Prior to Barclays, Helge spent two years as a Group Managing Director and COO of Asia Pacific Land, an Asia based and focused real estate private equity firm.  Between 2002 and 2008, Helge was a Managing Director with JP Morgan Securities. While at JP Morgan, he served as Chairman and CEO of JP Morgan Securities (Asia Pacific) Ltd., from 2005 until 2008.

Helge started his career in banking with Goldman, Sachs & Co. as an analyst in New York in 1987.  He spent most of the next 13 years with Goldman Sachs in New York where he made Managing Director in 1999 and moved to Goldman’s Hong Kong office in 2000.

Helge holds a BA in Economics from Williams College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
